Pregnancy Favorites

Since I recently had a baby and spent the majority of my year pregnant, I figured I would dedicate my first post to pregnancy products.  Obviously, during this time its important to be more mindful about what you put on your skin so I was always looking for products that were safe, effective, and natural.

These were some of my favorites and they're just as great for people who aren't pregnant- I'm still using them all now!

Skin

Tata Harper: The resurfacing mask in particular is a fabulous beta-hydroxy mask. It smells really nice and If my skin was feeling dull, I would leave it on for just a few minutes and rinse off with really cold water which I always do for an extra glow.  This entire line is 100% natural and non-toxic so its great while pregnant.

Clarins Body Tonic: Ok I’m embarrassed to admit how many bottles of this I've went through (so I won’t!) but I personally had really sensitive, itchy skin during all of my pregnancies.  So after trying many many products, bio-oil, cocoa butter, mama mio, coconut oil (also great) the list goes on, I finally came across this one and never went back. I used this everyday all over my stomach, hips and thighs immediately after showering. Its not too greasy and soaks in well.  Personally I love the smell AND it claims to have various ingredients that firm skin, which I’m not sure is the case but I never got stretch marks and was never itchy so I'll take it.  I always love using something that has a distinct smell because it will remind me of a certain time period,  so when I use it now I always think of being pregnant with my son James!

Nails

Another thing that I was concerned about  while pregnant were my nail products. I tried to get regular manicures when I was pregnant, so what went on them was just as important as went went on my skin. The Zealous Root has several different options for nail products. I frequently rotate all of them and it's nice that I wasn't exposing myself to super harsh ingredients like most nail polishes. Now that I have James, I do BIosculpture gel nails or EVO because lets face it I don't have the time I used to and getting into the salon for a manicure isn't easy. If I do the Biosculp or EVO I can easily go two weeks without a chip which for me is a miracle.....and you walk out with dry nails which is so nice. I'm constantly washing my hands and cleaning bottles and it truly stays on.  Smith and Cult is the regular polish option and has one of the coolest bottle design I've seen. They have really unique, bold colors and I can usually make this last a week. It's just regular nail polish so you have to be a little more patient while it dries, not easy for me!

*Smith and Cult’s Nailed Lacquer consistently delivers both flawlessly smooth coverage and brilliant  shine. While custom tailored to provide high performance, the exclusive 5-Free formula is  formulated without Dibutyl, Phthalate, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin and Camphor.

*Bio Sculpture Gel will not damage the natural nail, leading the way in health, durability, strength,  simplicity and ease of removal.

Bio Sculpture Gel contains no organic solvents, dehydrating primers or binders. With Bio Sculpture  Gel there’s no excessive buffing, minimal dust and all products are free of any harmful chemicals  including DBP, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin and Camphor.
